Community Tree Planting Day at Hackhurst

Saturday 14 March 2026, 10am-3pm

You are warmly invited to join us at Hackhurst Farm with The Children's Forest project for a community tree planting day, of native trees grown locally from seed.

This is a hands-on day for all ages where you will be guided to plant young trees to extend the existing Children’s Forest and to tend some of the trees we have planted in previous years. Full instruction and all materials and tools will be provided.

We will gather around a warming fire and enjoy games, songs and stories as well as plant and tend the trees. There will be time to slow down, connect with nature, and share in the simple joy of tending the Earth together.

Planting Trees at Hackhurst Farm

No experience is needed - just a willingness to get muddy fingers, be outdoors, and be part of something fun that supports nature and builds connection for humans and animals alike. Bring a packed lunch and something to drink.

Price by donation. Your offering, as an individual or for a group of tickets, will support the ongoing work of Children's Forest and its vision of creating a vibrant healthy forest at the heart of every community.

About Children's Forest

Children’s Forest is a movement to support children and their communities to reconnect with nature and plant woodlands for the children of all species for many generations to come. Hear more in this short film.

In November 2021 a group of families guided by Children's Forest facilitators began planting at Hackhurst Farm. We have since planted over 450 trees with various community groups and welcome those people back to tend the trees and enjoy the space they are creating. Join us to feel your own unique connection to this land whilst planting, supporting biodiversity and helping to build healthy cultural regeneration. We look forward to welcoming you.
